I feel that this would work well in a middle to upper- elementary setting. This would need roughly a month time to prepare and complete all prints for a class. The challenges would be the minute details that could completely change the print entirely. The benefit is learning both how to print and learning about biomes and terrain.

Updated Draft

Image
The new draft came out and looked as good as I wanted. I, unfortunately, had to take the supports of the trees, and 3 broke off. Over the break, I'll glue 2-3 of the pieces back together. I also want to paint the 3D model during the break. Here is the picture of the updated model

Tweak it

I was not happy with my rough draft, so I knew I needed to make some major adjustments. The major problem I faced was that the trees and mountains couldn't group with a base. I realized that I needed to make the mountains and trees through simple shapes in order for me to add a base/terrain. I added paraboloid shapes as the mountains, combined multiple cones to a cylinder base to make evergreen trees, added a triangle with a triangular hole in the middle to make a tent, and even created a fire pit. I also added a hole to mimic a river or a stream. Here is my updated project.

Try it (There was no "Try it" on my Tinkercad so this will replace it)

I received my rough draft, and while it went as well as I could expect, some changes are needed. Here is the image of my rough draft.

Create it

I finished my rough draft of my 3D print. I realized that my print was too big and needed to scale down. I also struggled to add a base to the build so I am curious to how it will look when I get it in a couple of days. Here is a picture of the draft

Sketch it

I drew a rough idea of how to make my biome. I want to create a biome with coniferous or pine trees with mountains and snow. The biome/terrain I am basing this off of is the Alaskan terrain/biome. Here is a rough image of what I want to do Side note: This is a poor drawing

Explore It: Biomes

While conducting research, I was able to better understand biodiversity and develop global awareness of environmental concerns. I was able to learn this though the sources Tinkercad provided me.
